In a recent announcement, The Hon. I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, declared the appointment of Latia Duncombe as Director General of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation.
Cooper praised Duncombe stating, “During the past year, Mrs. Duncombe has brought energetic leadership to our senior executive management team at the Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation. She has made a seamless transition from the corporate sector to public service, utilizing her wealth of knowledge and experience to lead Team Tourism. She joined at a crucial time as we were undertaking the task of Tourism recovery and has worked tirelessly to achieve the goal of getting our industry back on track.”
Duncombe is the seventh Executive to be appointed as Director General in the Ministry’s 54th year and the third female to hold the position.

In response to her appointment, Duncombe said, “I am honored and privileged to lead The Bahamas’ chief economic engine. Tourism is a fascinating industry and one that touches the lives of the entire population and guarantees the socio-economic stability of The Bahamas.”
Duncombe also commented on the Ministry’s performance last year, “Our robust performance last year is a testament that growth and expansion are possible, considering our country’s assets and the resilience of our people.
