Riina Nevalainen Becomes the First Female Executive Editor-in-Chief of Kauppalehti

Riina Nevalainen, a seasoned journalist with over two decades of experience, has been appointed as the new Executive Editor-in-Chief of Kauppalehti, the leading business daily in Finland. The appointment comes as a milestone for the 125-year-old Kauppalehti as Nevalainen will be the first woman to take up the role of Executive Editor-in-Chief.

Insight into Riina Nevalainen’s Career

Riina Nevalainen has had an illustrious career in journalism. She was Editor-in-Charge of news activities in a major regional newspaper in Tampere region, Aamulehti, and was responsible for the local media of Pirkanmaa (Tampere region). She has also been a news manager in Aamulehti and a reporter of the digital Aamulehti. In 2020, Nevalainen received the Great Journalist Award for her work as Journalistic Manager of the Year in Finland.

Nevalainen’s Vision for Kauppalehti

Changing of the Editor-in-Chief at Arvopaperi

In connection with the appointment, the Editor-in-Chief of the Arvopaperi media, Finland’s only multichannel media focusing exclusively on investing, will change from 18 February 2023. The new Editor-in-Chief is Master of Arts Ninni Myllyoja. Ms. Myllyoja will continue to lead the Alma Talent’s joint editorial office, responsible for the stock exchange content also in Kauppalehti and Talouselämä, the largest weekly economic magazine in the Nordic countries, published by Alma Talent.
